LZARC operators setting up portable amateur radio equipment in a park

What is POTA?

Talk across the country from a park.

Parks on the Air, also known as POTA, is an amateur radio activity where licensed operators set up portable radio stations in parks and make contacts across the country and around the world.

Everything is portable: radios, antennas, battery power, logging, and the operator's own skill. Changing terrain, weather, and radio conditions make each activation a useful field test.
